While it’s clearly NOT the most polished form of the collection, (or even the games themselves) it’s still one of Naughty Dog’s most imaginative universes to date that shouldn’t be missed by anyone. I would only play this version if you can’t obtain ANY other version first. Simply because everyone should have the opportunity to experience these wonderful games even if you don’t have a PS3 or PS2. So Should You Play The Jak and Daxter Collection for PSVita? It isn’t really prevalent in the preceding titles but can show up in some of the slower running sections of the game. Double-Jump quickly becomes essential in this game and it fails to work nearly 40-50% of the time due to the said input lag. It’s quite noticeable as one of the games most important concepts: Platforming? Becomes a complete gamble of fate. The third and… (I can’t stress this enough) MOST anger fueling of my gripes is an input lag in Jak and Daxter.The rear touch so while I’m flying through traffic in haven city needing to switch hover lanes CONSTANTLY, I have to tap all over the back hoping I hit it once, not twice otherwise it served no purpose other than angering me… The REAR touch, not shiny accessible, I can see where I’m hitting a time sensitive button, FRONT touch screen. The second and possibly runner-up for most annoying control scheme on a Vita title is… L2 & R2 / 元 & R3 mapped to the rear touch.It isn't noticeable if you haven’t played the game before, (Hence all the players wondering what the fuss is about) but for the people who have countless vivid memories playing these games… You are GOING to notice them… There are these totally random things in the game that are bugged like Ratchet’s helmets being 1/3 larger than his head. If anyone has played the Ratchet and Clank Collection for PS3 then you’ve probably seen what I mean. It didn’t bother me though, it’s not game-breaking and I totally see past it…” with HD collections. Quick Rant: What is it with everyone being like “Oh it’s this annoying glitch that makes you jump twice as high. On a side note: The above mission with Sig at the Pumping Station includes a glitch where the Peacemaker’s charging sound effect lingers continuously after each shot… Simply “pausing” with select fixes this. I suppose it could come down to differences in the way they played on their respective engines, though I had figured they were all pretty much the same games mechanically. This really leads me to believe Jak 3 recieved the most treatment while they worked backwards from there giving it’s roots the least amount of care. gunfire, explosions, and damage) In Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, the frame rate tends to be at it’s worst. I’ve seen it so low it appears to also miss certain sound effects (eg. The number one problem with the collection off the bat is a horrid frame rate that fluctuates between what appears to be 15-25 FPS.Should you play this Collection on your fancy Vita on the go or under your covers at night? Well… All three games inspired magical ideas and creepy futuristic environments in my little sponge of a brain. First and foremost, this trilogy stands as the most inspirational and enjoyable piece of video gaming I had the pleasure of owning as a kid.
